Dating has been both a source of excitement and disappointment for millennia. But let's be real, dating today is much different than what it was like in the classical ages. Back then, dating was more like a business transaction than a romantic connection. People were matched based on the family's social status and political power. If today we swipe left and right, back then it was more like checking off boxes on a to-do list.

But to be fair, dating hasn't changed THAT much because just like today, people in the classical ages still had to navigate through the waters of attraction, affection, rejection, and heartbreak. And while they didn't have social media or even cell phones, they had their own means of courting and sliding into DMs.

When we really think about it, both time frames have their own advantages and disadvantages. But a romantic poem does sound better than a n*de from your situationship…
